Todays reels and rods are stronger than ever and stood the test out on my kayak searching stripers up to 40inches. With a smooth Toad fish braid line it was the perfect storm. The rod feels strong and sensitive. The reel drag sounded great when a big fish takes off with your line. The Stono combo has it all going on for a 7ft rod and a 4000 reel! Fishing 43 years and this combo is the best buy yet. Thank you Toad fish and by the way customer service was awesome and waiting on orders come quick. Yes!

Anyone doubting the ability of these when it comes to big fish can stop doubting, I can’t make a comment on longevity as this is the first time I have ever used them, but as for strength and smoothness the 7.6 foot medium paired with a 4k and toadfish 30lb braid did absolutely phenomenal against this 39 inch probably around 25lb cobia
In spite of the tube being damaged, the rod was still in good shape. Very nice 7.5 rod.
Rod is very light but has a good back bone. The weight is perfect for wade fishing. The cork handles are beautiful.
Smooth and pairs up great with the Stono rod. Reel is so light and will be perfect for wade fishing.

Got it loaded with line and am going to fish it this week for first time. I need a rod that can stand up to lots of use and transport. I fish 3 to 4 days a week and my gear is loved but used. I am confident in this combo.

This was a gift for my 12 year old grandson who got the reel also. He’s obsessed with fishing and this is his favorite rod so far.

Only used it once since I received it last week. It’s a solid reel. Feels good in my hand. Super smooth casting and reeling. Drag is solid and precise. Drag sounds really good too. I was a little disappointed when I spooled it up with new line. It loaded heavy at the bottom of the spool. Had to unspool it and find a different size spacer for under the spool. The spacer was too thick and loaded heavy at the bottom. The extra spacers were the same size as the one that was installed originally. Never had that problem with any other brand new reel that I have purchased in the past. Have to see if it stands the test of time now.

Took the rod out this past weekend. Only caught a couple little ones, so haven’t really tested the backbone of the rod yet. But I love the action on it, and how light it is. My hands are really happy with the rubber/cork grips as well. Great rod for the price. Just have to see how it holds up against time.

Very versatile inshore combo good for just about anything. Light, efficient and smooth.
Happy with the reels I purchased. They look good and feel good. Running 20# braid and they cast very well with no issues. Drag handles nice. Plan on purchasing 2 more. Can't go wrong at this price point.
